Crows Hill Resource Managment, PC is a privately owned forestry consulting firm operated by Dan Brandon.
Dan is a 1987 graduate of NC State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in forest management. He is also a registered forester in NC. NCRF #715
Dan worked for 30 years as a forester with the North Carolina Forest Service where he dealt with all aspects of forestry and land management for private and state lands. This included timber sales and administration, inspection of logging operations for compliance with NC Forest Practice Guidelines, administration of cost share programs, reforestation, and all other aspects of land management.
During his tenure there, he helped to build a premier reforestation program that offered landowners economical and quality site preparation, tree planting, and other land management services to landowners in the region.
Dan also worked with numerous local and state government agencies to achieve their objectives that were often not straight timber oriented. He has worked with the Catawba Lands Conservancy in their efforts to re-establish Oak Savannas at Buffalo Creek, along with Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation to re-establish shortleaf pine and Schweinitz's sunflower. He also worked with NC Wildlife Resources Commission to re-establish woodland buffers along Goose Creek in Union County to protect the Carolina Heelsplitter an endangered mussel found in a Goose Creek.
He was also recognized by the North Carolina Wildlife Federation as Forest Conservationist of the Year in 2005.
